General submissions are now open for the 22nd annual Vancouver Island Short Film Festival!

The 22nd annual VISFF will screen at the at VIU’s Malaspina Theatre on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of Snuneymuxw First Nation in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, on March 26th & 27th, 2027, featuring up to 20 original short films celebrating the art and craft of short-form storytelling curated into two unique programs, and our youth program. Each show will include Q&A sessions with featured filmmakers and the Goldie Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening. Audiences will be able to experience the full festival in person and online.

Our Youth Showcase of 10 films by filmmakers 18 years old or younger will be held on Saturday, March 27th.
