Don’t miss out on one of Nanaimo’s signature events: The Vancouver Island Short Film Festival!
The event is held at the Malaspina Theatre, Vancouver Island University, Building 310.
Heading into its 13th year, the festival has evolved into an internationally recognized film showcase that attracts short films from around the world.
VISFF showcases the best in films 12 minutes or less, in any genre, curated by a local Selection Committee.
The selected films are all shown at three different screenings:
- Friday, February 2nd, at 7 pm, the show concludes with a filmmakers’ Q&A.
- Saturday, February 3rd will feature a matinee at 2pm
- Saturday, February 3rd, an evening show at 7pm, followed by the Awards Ceremony.
The doors open at 6pm for the evening shows so come early to mingle, get your seat and enjoy a beverage and some music.
Awards are given out in 7 different categories, including People’s Choice! The VISFF is one of the top 100 rated festivals in the world on filmfreeway.com and always has a packed audience enjoying amazing films.
