Born in New Westminster and raised in Powell River, Knight – also a talented musician and painter – relocated to Nanaimo in 2008 to attend Vancouver Island University for Jazz studies and Visual Arts. During his schooling in these disciplines, Knight’s association with local musicians and other creatives drew him away from school and into the field of short films and music videos. In order to constantly evolve creatively and develop his artistic sensibilities, Knight is an artist believing strongly in drawing inspiration from as many influential sources and art forms as possible. As a filmmaker his style is darkly romantic, provocative and technically exploratory, with roots in classic techniques that merge with a unique, modern vision.
