The Vancouver Island Short Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary from May 1-3, 2025, in its home of Nanaimo, B.C. This is a celebration of two decades of dedication, passion, and countless stories brought to life.

To lead up the anniversary, we’ve produced this short video that features fifteen faces that represent twenty years of magic: founders, filmmakers, designers, contributors, and supporters. Their passion, creativity, and unwavering belief in the power of film has shaped the VISFF into what it is today.

We are eternally grateful for so many memories, so many milestones, and for so many incredible people who have made this festival possible. We extend our deepest appreciation to the countless volunteers, supporters, and film lovers who have also been vital to our journey.
