Vasili Manikas is a writer, director, and producer based in Canada. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2018 with degrees in Cognitive Science, Psychology, and Philosophy. Shortly after, he entered the Canadian film industry, working as a Production Assistant and Assistant Director on a range of television and film productions.

His passion for filmmaking began in his teenage years through his local Greek community theatre group. His debut short film, Thymos (2013), won both the Audience Choice Award and the Social Media Award at the 2013 Greek Film & Foto Week. His most recent short, Ring Neck (2023), premiered at the 2024 Fantasia International Film Festival and went on to win Best Horror Short at the 2024 Arizona Underground Film Festival.
